resume=For many years now, at Bill and Ted University of the future, the people of the world have been excellent to each other. But fed-up with Bill and Ted's peaceful world and even more fed up with heavy metal, Chuck De Nomolos decides to do something about it. De Nomolos creates cyborg versions of Bill and Ted, who travel back to 1990 with orders to kill the human versions of Bill and Ted, win the Battle of the Bands, and pave the way for De Nomolos to take over the future. In 1990, Bill and Ted are sent to hell by the cyborgs. Cyborg Bill and cyborg Ted make time with the real Bill and Ted's girlfriends Joanna and Elizabeth and prepare to take the human Bill and Ted's place in the Battle of the Bands. With the help of their friend Rufus, the human Bill and Ted are forced to find a way out of hell, deal with the Grim Reaper, and talk to God himself, in their mission to get to the Battle of the Bands and stop the two cyborgs;

While it is quite a bit different than the first and Bill and Ted may be just a shade dumber, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" still has all of the magic and fun that made the first one so enjoyable. Things seem to be a little bit bigger in scope now.
Bill and Ted have somehow manage to complete high school and be accepted. into college. They've also managed to hang onto their medievel girlfriends and, aside from the fact that the band is still struggling, they're doing alright. That is, until a crazy guy from the future sends a couple of Bill and Ted robots back in time to wreck things up and make sure that the band never happens. So, Rufus (Carlin, again) jumps into (more like hitches a ride from) the ever-faithful phone booth and goes back to warn Bill and Ted. Too late, Bill and Ted are knocked off by the "evil" Bill and Ted and soon wind up in hell. not good. Lucky for them, Death (Bill Sadler) is none too bright. The guys are now on a journey to stop the "evil Bill and Ted" and to save mankind as they know it (remember, their band is what's responsible for worldwide peace in the future. br>
While the premise may be COMPLETELY out there, just like in the first, it still works. The guys are just as fun to watch and hang out with and the Grim Reaper makes good company for them as he bumbles and complains his way through most of the movie, making snide remarks and even half-way apologizing to God by saying "they melvined me. It's hilarious.
Just like in the first, the music is awesome. We get a lot of early-nineties metal (Faith No More, Megadeth, Primus, and one of the best songs Kiss ever recorded "God Gave Rock and Roll to You. Yes, I bought the soundtrack back when this movie was still in theaters. Faith No More fans might also appreciate a cameo by guitarist/founder Jim Martin.
With the success that Keanu Reeves has had over the last decade, it would be so much fun to see him and Alex Winter be Bill and Ted again. It's a real shame that they don't make movies like this anymore.

I enjoy the Bill & Ted films and this is a great sequel to the original. The film isn't so much about plot as it is just watching Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. I just want to say that William Sadler is great as the Grim Reaper. He takes the role over and it is very funny. I had a great time watching this film. I own the laserdisc, so I've watched it several times and it is still great.

The second "Bill and Ted" movie builds on the first in the same style, but I mostly had the impression that plot and jokes are forced and uninspired. Or maybe "it's so bad it's good" humor just can't work twice in a row. It has a lot of "Easter egg" details and references, it has a couple of strong moments and it has William Sadler in a rather interestingly written role of Death, but apart from the ending that really made me laugh, the overall impression was pretty lukewarm.
